Description

Aircraft Maintenance Technology is a large field with many opportunities inside and even outside of aviation. It is no wonder that many people want to get their Airframe and/or Powerplant rating (A&P) and begin working in this ever growing field.

If you are attending a school certified under part 147 and just need a refresher before taking your written and O&P. 

or

You were a mechanic in the military and you want to work on civilian aircraft as an FAA certified A&P. You will need to know your Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR).

In this course we will be going over many topics you will need to know to navigate the Title 14 CFRs  and aid you in passing your A&P licencing tests. You will know key terms, the dispensation of documents, your privileges and limitation under your rating, major and minor repairs and alterations along with many other important topics.

The course will be structured with lectures and Powerpoints over section in the FAR AMT book. Students will also be expected to do some independent reading. The FAR AMT book is required for this course and is a book I recommend keeping throughout your career. 

The course will include several quizzes from the that will require your FAR AMT book to answer.

This course is a work in progress with new Parts on the way. In the coming weeks expect to see Parts 39 Airworthiness Directives and Part 43 Maintenance, Preventive Maintenance, Rebuilding, and Alteration. We will also take a step back from the Title 14 CFR and explore FAA.GOV and how to find important documentation you will have to be familiar with.

Please note that this course is over the Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) more specifically the Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations. This book governs the Federal Aviation Administration and sets the privileges and limitations of Aircraft Maintenance Technicians and Repairmen in the UNITED STATES (US) or United states based Air Carriers.  

This course WILL NOT cover the technical (Hands On) side of Aircraft Maintenance and should be viewed as a study aid or exposure course to the FAR. 


***Update 2020***

This Course will be getting a 2020 update on all Title 14 code of Federal Regulation changes made since the origanal publication date of this course. This will also add addition resourses including a look into the AC 43.13-1B - Acceptable Methods, Techniques, and Practices.


Who Should Attend!

  • This course is suited for anyone serious about becoming an AMT in the U.S. The Federal Aviation Regulations(FARs) we will be discussing are FAA approved data for aircraft under FAA regulations.
  • This course will be useful to U.S Military Personnel that wish to get there AMT licence.
  • This course WILL NOT give credit towards attending an aviation maintenance technician school certified under part 147. This course should be use as an exposure or review course to the FARs.
