Description

In this course, you will be receiving a comprehensive introduction to Maya 2017! Here, we will cover how Maya works, starting with navigating its UI, and then building a project that will take us through the different aspects of Maya's organizational tools.  For the modelling pipeline, we will be covering polygonal modeling, texturing, and UV mapping as we get our feet wet with some of these introductory-level tools.  Next, we will dive right into some of the tech art and animation tools as we discuss various topics related to both character rigging and animation.  And to put a final touch on the basics, we will then give an overview on the rendering within Maya.  From there, we will move on to some of the more advanced and newer features of Maya 2017.  This section will include the Arnold rendered, the new blendshape editing tools, the PSD system, and the Time Editor.  whether you are just starting in computer animation or a veteran that wants to review the latest tools available, this course has something for you!

More about the Instructor:

Chad Robert Morgan used his veteran’s benefits he earned from his tour in the US Navy to go to Sonoma State University where he earned his bachelors degree in Computer Science. He got his first job in the industry right after graduation with LucasArts where he learned how to rig characters in SoftImage and Maya, as well as how to apply his programming knowledge with MEL. Chad has worked in both film and games for nearly 20 years. Currently he runs his own company, Spectral Ink Productions, which published its first mobile game The Last Rite – Endless Nightmare, as well as working with University of California Irvine on an educational game. Chad also works for Whitemoon Dreams, the makers of WarMachine:Tactics.
