Description

The Acoustic Emission Examination of FRP (Fiber-Reinforced Polymer) Vessels Course is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of acoustic emission testing and its application to FRP vessels.

The course covers the fundamentals of acoustic emission testing, including the principles of wave propagation, signal acquisition, and analysis techniques. Participants will learn about the different types of FRP materials and their properties, as well as the various types of FRP vessels and their design considerations.

The course also covers the equipment used for acoustic emission testing, including sensors, amplifiers, and data acquisition systems. Participants will learn how to properly set up and calibrate the equipment, as well as how to perform loading and conditioning of the vessel prior to testing.

The course also includes topics on sensor placement, evaluation of test results, and reporting. Participants will learn how to interpret the data acquired from the acoustic emission testing equipment, and how to identify and characterize defects in FRP vessels, including delamination, cracking, and fiber breakage.

Upon completion of the course, participants will have a solid understanding of the principles and techniques of acoustic emission testing for FRP vessels, and will be able to apply this knowledge in their professional work. Participants will also gain hands-on experience in equipment setup, loading and conditioning, evaluation of results, and reporting of findings.

Who Should Attend!

  • Professionals who are interested in getting the ASNT AE Level III Certification
  • NDT Managers / NDT Engineers / NDT Supervisors / NDT Inspectors / NDT Technicians
  • Individuals who already have a solid foundation in Acoustic Emission Testing (AE) and are seeking to deepen their knowledge and skills in order to prepare for their AE Level 3 certification exam. These individuals typically have extensive experience working in the field of non-destructive testing and have already completed the Level 2 certification in ET.
