Hello and welcome!
Step into the world of “Acrylic Painting: A Beginner's Guide”! Here, you'll learn how to create beautiful still life paintings using acrylics. If you're new to painting or want to know more about acrylics, this course is just for you!
This course is beginner-friendly. It's designed to help you learn to paint with acrylics step by step. You'll start with easy tasks and slowly move to more challenging ones.
The first chapter of this course is all about the basics. Here, we'll dive into the important stuff you need to know before starting. We'll talk about the different tools and supplies that beginners like you will find helpful. We'll also explore what features make acrylic paints special. I’ll introduce you to various techniques and the process of mixing paints. Ever heard of "color temperature" or "value"? Don't worry, we'll cover those too!
In the second chapter, we’ll begin our first painting project. Starting with just one item, like an apple, helps us focus on the basics. We’ll paint an apple on the wooden surface, and through this process, you’ll learn about the light and shadow areas in painting. We'll also explore how to convey the volume of the object, and how to make our object seem real.
Our final project will be the still life painting. We will be working with two objects here, the bottle and the cup, as well as with an interesting background. Painting more than one item will be a bit more challenging, but also more fun. In this painting you’ll see how to convey proportions, colors and textures of our objects. All these points will help the painting look real and have depth.
By the end of this course you’ll learn about:
painting supplies needed on the course
features of acrylics and difference from the other mediums
color mixing, color temperature and value
applying paints and conveying the volume of the objects in the painting
showing objects’ textures and various details
This course is a nice combination of theory and practice. It teaches you the basics of work with acrylic paints, so that you can create and enjoy the painting process.
The result of this course will be 2 complete paintings (of a simple object and still life) that you made under the guidance of a teacher.
