AUTomotive Open System ARchitecture (AUTOSAR) is a global development partnership of automotive interested parties founded in 2003. AUTOSAR is being rapidly being adopted by OEMs as well as suppliers to meet the growing demand for automotive software applications. It is further classified into Classic and Adaptive AUTOSAR.
The Classic AUTOSAR was the first architecture that was developed to meet needs of modern car manufacturers. Later,
due to modern demands like over the air updates, complex functionalities like automated driving, need of new architecture arised. Thus, Adaptive AUTOSAR was developed. In modern cars, there are ECUs that support both Classic AUTOSAR and ECUs that support Adaptive AUTOSAR as well.
Due to the vast information and multiple layers that are used, it is almost impossible to gain expertise on all layers of the AUTOSAR. In this course, the focus is on the Adaptive AUTOSAR. We start from the basics, discuss various fundamental concepts, modules involved and finally have a look at a sample demo project.
The goal of this course is to provide as much information possible to help a person wanting to learn/work in Adaptive AUTOSAR. Note that this is not a substitute to actual work experience, but it definitely will help you get the fundamentals right.
