Description

ADHD is  so much more than just hyperactivity and it is a real condition. Just ask someone who knows....like me for example. I have had ADHD my whole life and it was the biggest factor in my choosing to become a teacher. I wanted my students never to go through the miserable school struggles that I did. When I was growing up, if you weren't able to focus on your work, you were told that you should try harder. Well, as anyone who has worked and tried as hard as they could when doing something knows, there is nothing more insulting to that person than telling them they aren't trying hard enough. I have devoted the past 2 decades to excellence in teaching and have reached all the children with ADHD that have come to my class. In this course, ADHD: Beyond the Hyperactive Stereotypes, teachers will learn how to recognize signs children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder need a break, classroom strategies that truly work for the ADHD afflicted child, what ways executive function is impacted and how to surpass executive function obstacles, ways to improve working memory, promote better peer to peer relationships, myths and stereotypes of ADHD that need to disappear, truth about the long history of ADHD, coexisting conditions that shadow ADHD including depression and ODD and much more!
