Description

IMPORTANT

If there are low enrolments on this course this means that:

1. This is a very new course

2. I have NOT given away thousands of free coupons to create an impression that huge numbers of students have enrolled

3. Also the majority of those with free coupons never look at any lectures and certainly do not participate in the Q/A!

Now, read on about the course.

This is a course about a) doing art and b) interpreting the art within an 'art therapy' lens. The first third of the course looks at interpretation and the problems. The second third is where we look at the work of seventeen art therapy students who created paintings in response to specific prompts. They were then asked to recreate their work digitally and submit it for students on this course. They have agreed to make their work copyright free to allow for copying and discussing in real life.

The third section is DIY - Do It Yourself where we go into ways that you can interpret your own artwork.

Throughout this course the emphasis is on:

a) doing and b) interpreting.

The artwork submitted by the 17 students is open for discussion and it is hoped that students enrolled here will a) respond to the prompts and then b) respond to the interpretation.

There is a strong practical element to this course - it is stressed you do NOT just sit back and let lectures wash over you. THINK and REFLECT about what you see and hear - and apply it to your own practice as your understanding grows.

All links, film clips, research studies, images are fully referenced in this course and added to Resources. You are encouraged to click them and see the entire film, read the entire study etc. The material here should be considered the starting point for your journey.
