Without any doubt an effective individual in the modern, fast paced, mechanical world is one who has mastered emotions and is able to regulate their emotions and thoughts on daily basis. The skills taught in this course are the results are my over a decade of experience in therapy. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy was created by Dr. Marsha Linehan to address Borderline Personality Disorder. This disorder is marked by emotions that are too large to control or people or who are emotionally numb and can't connect to other human beings on emotional level. In this course, you will learn FOUR life skills that is essential to have a fulfilling life and have thousands of researches done for their effectiveness.
These skills are namely Mindfulness, Emotional Regulation, Distress Tolerance and Interpersonal Skills. Mindfulness makes you a super human when you learn to get off Autopilot and actually live and enjoy the moment that exists. Emotional Regulation helps you identify how you may be vulnerable to negative emotions (including unhealthy relationships, pessimistic world views to sleep hygiene, etc.) Moving on to third module, Distress Tolerance, you will learn to regulate emotions and thoughts that make you react in a destructive way in an emotional crisis that makes the situation worse and makes you regret it later. Finally we will learn about boundaries and how you can make requests to maintain your boundaries in order for you to connect in a healthy way to other human beings. The final module Interpersonal Skills is the cherry on the top of a hugely important course.
