This course will teach the concepts related to the Numbers topic of the College Mathematics CLEP exam.  The College Mathematics CLEP exam can be taken for college credit.  The exact courses that the college credit can be applied to are determined by your university, please consult your university's registrar's office.  The Numbers topic covers approximately 10% of the material on the College Mathematics CLEP exam, according to the College Board website.  Mastering the Numbers topic will help you win points on the College Mathematics CLEP exam which will help you pass the exam.  The Numbers topic also includes base knowledge that must be understood in order to master the other topics on the exam, such as the Algebra and Functions topic.

  5. Imaginary and complex numbers - define imaginary numbers, define complex numbers, adding complex numbers, subtracting complex numbers, multiplying complex numbers, dividing complex numbers

  6. Scientific notation - definition/form of scientific notation, how to convert to standard notation, how to convert from standard notation to scientific notation, multiplication of numbers in scientific notation, division of numbers in scientific notation

  7. Systems of measurement - imperial system and metric system units of length, weight and volume; units of time; how to convert units
