COURSE OVERVIEW
This a complete course on preparation of consolidated financial statements. The course focuses on learning through practice questions and this the reason the course lecture videos are more than eighty percent on doing practice questions and exercises with detailed explanation. I believe that doing questions is the best way to understand the process of consolidation.
The course starts with basics of consolidated financial statements. We become familiar with the important concepts such as calculation of consideration and different types of considerations, then we move to calculate the net assets of subsidiaries and adjustments to fair value and its impacts on SOFP and SOCI, clculation of goodwill, grossed up goodwill and impairment of goodwill. Another important part is valuation methods of non controlling interests and their share in goodwill and its impairment, if any. Finally we move to case studies. The course includes several long case studies for consolidated financial statements.
Overall, by the end of the course the particiapnts will gain thorough knowledge about consolidated financial statements and will become expert in preparing consolidated financial statements.
