Core Network Routing Topics

What You Will Learn!

  • Students will learn IPv4 and IPv6 Adressing and Subnetting
  • Students will configure Static and Default Routes in IPv4 and IPv6
  • Students will configure dynamic routing protocols in bot IPv4 and IPv6
  • Students will learn how to manipulate routing protocols for more efficient networking

Description

This course is over 5 hours in length and will cover
everything from IPv4 and IPv6 addressing and subnetting, the use of Default routes, Static routes and Static Floating routes in both IPv4 and IPv6. We will also cover the routing protocols such as RIPv2, RIPng, EIGRPv2 and EIGRP for IPv6, lastly OSPFv2/OSPFv3.

We will be using several “show commands” to look at different aspects of the routing protocols behavior and if it's working correctly. We will also use different methods of configuring the routing protocols, such as using network statement or enabling them under the interface.

DISCLAIMER: Please note that the simulators/emulators used in this course are not part of the course. It is the student’s responsibility to have these to practice with. The Cisco Packet Tracer or CML2 (Cisco Modeling Labs 2) are Cisco proprietary software and can only be obtained through Cisco. It is up to each student to obtain the simulator/emulator of their choice to study along with this course.

If you are unable to get hold of the CPT, remember that you have other options, like: GNS3, Boson or even live equipment.

It is recommended that you use any of the simulators mentioned above to follow along with the course.

Students will get a thorough understanding of how the routing process actually works and they will also learn how to configure all inter-networking components using the EVE-NG simulator.

Students will be configuring RIPv2, RIPng, EIGRPv2, EIGRP for IPv6, OSPFv2 and OSPFv3. Students will understand how to manipulate each routing protocols attributes to meet the requirements of the network.

Hands-on labs will be used to drill down the concepts learned in each lecture using EVE-NG.

My method will make you feel like you are sitting in a classroom environment and give you the most needed hands-on experience!

This course is designed to help the student become comfortable with the routing concepts and configurations, but it will also help in preparing them for any networking certification or Real-world scenarios; not to mention the fact, that for those already in the field, it will further
improve routing decisions in their particular networks.
