This course examines how early life trauma impacts brain development and the ability to form healthy connections.
Course Overview:
There are 4 Total Modules in this course.
Module 1: Brain Development (The importance of brain development and the role adverse experiences play.)
Module 2: Attachment & Intimacy (How attachment styles are formed and role relational adversities have on brain states and form a barrier.)
Module 3: Stress & Reward (How patterns of stress and how impact behaviour and the brain’s adaptive responses.)
Module 4: Experiences (The impact of experience on memory and how memory and repetition can scaffold learning.)
About Us:
Karina Schreurs (Trauma Consultant) has a background in Therapy in Education and has post-graduate study in Neuroscience. She is passionate about empowering educators with practical strategies to see stress reduced in classrooms.
Dr. Dedré Nel (Trauma Consultant) is a qualified Social Worker with post-grad training in Play Therapy and the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics. She is passionate about empowering Tamariki, Whanau and Professionals to succeed.
