Description

In this course I will discuss the elements that go into writing a proper test essay in English. The structure is critical, so we look at what goes into the Introduction, Body, and the Conclusion of an essay. Critically, we look at how these elements interact, how they are related to each other. With color coded examples, we will see how the parts of an essay fit together. This will give students the mental template needed when writing an essay for an English test.

The importance of having a strong understanding of the structure of an essay cannot be overstated. The organization of an essay is essential. English essays have an expected structure and that is what is being tested. The way an essay is organized is one of the most important factors in writing an essay. When taking a test, time is critical. Test takers do not have time to think about how to organize their writing. After taking this course, students will know exactly what is expected of them and how to do it.

This course has numerous examples, color coded diagrams and practice exercises. In this course we will go step by step and describe how to organize your thoughts. I live in Japan so there is some support for Japanese speakers.
