Description

In this course, you will learn internal audit requirements mentioned in ISO 9001 QMS standard, the way this requirement should be implemented through procedure for internal audit which has been discussed in this course and the way Procedure for Internal Audit should be implemented to conform the requirements of standard. The procedure for internal audit covers:

Internal audit is an effective tool that is used for self-assessment of the organization and to determine the extent to which the QMS requirements are fulfilled. The results of the audit (the audit findings) shall demonstrate the effectiveness of the QMS and identify nonconformities and opportunities for improvement.

There are internal and external audits. External audits may be performed by customers or regulators or by independent third parties. Internal audits may be performed by dedicated auditors from different departments or by personnel engaged by the manager responsible for the results of a process.

ISO 19011 provides guidance on planning and conducting internal audits, but it does not describe how to do the audit so you have a free choice as to the methodologies. In this course, you will learn the methodology mostly used in many organizations.
