In this course, we will show you how to account for Manufacturing Project costs; for example the manufacturing of a ship or aircraft where there are various components which may be tailored to a specific order, and services contributed through various tradespersons.
Once we have covered the theory, will work on an actual Project which will be the manufacturing of an Emergency Services Command Vehicle.
From there, we will then demonstrate the concepts learned throughout the course on a computerized Accounting Software program.
This course will cover various topics including allocating purchases to specific Projects such as materials and sub-trades, Allocating Overhead from participating divisions such as the welding and the paint shops, and preparing reports in order to stay on top of the Project status and costs to date versus the budget.
If your Accounting program does not have a Project module, we will demonstrate a process on a spreadsheet which will assist in achieving the goal of monitoring the costs, and we even provide a template that you may feel free to modify and use at your workplace.
Although this course is written by a Canadian CPA, the concepts taught are consistent with International practices including those used in Canada, the United States, and Europe.
