This course will give you information about the skills that are required to become a carer, and get employment working in a variety of settings. in a residential home or in the community or in hospitals.  It is not extensive and is intended to give a student more information of what will be expected if this is a career they choose to embark on. you will learn about the role of a care worker, what is required of you. The core values that are the principles that care workers work under, allowing people to remain in their own homes  and to retain as much independence as possible. you will learn about confidentiality and why it is so important.  Communication and what role it has within care and why it is very important to be able to do your work professionally. you will learn about the Government Acts that govern health and social care and your responsabilities within that framework. you will learn about Infection control and prevention which is so important at all times.The activities are designed to make the student think about how they would deal with given situations. and give insight into the daily activity of a care worker. this is a new beginning, and anyone entering into care can move up the ladder to so many different aspects of care. Community carer, Residential home care worker. senior carer, supervisor, care coordinator, right up to management positions. Care home manager, Assistant manager.and there are lots of other positions. involving all kinds of different aspects of care:- primary care, direct care, home care, support care, support admin. the list is endless.     At the end of the day a career in healthcare is a very rewarding job. it will bring a sense of achievement and satisfaction.
