Description

In this course you will learn how to play 30 songs from Ireland & Great Britain on the Kalimba (with 17 tines) - and that without previous musical knowledge, you don't even have to be able to read music notes.

We start with the basic playing techniques (holding the Kalimba and playing the first notes) and refine them with a few simple exercises. If the basis and playing the notes works, you can practice and deepen melody playing with 30 well-known and popular songs from Ireland and Great Britain.

The melodies and an accompanying band can be heard in the song videos, the well-known "karaoke" technique underlines the tine symbols to be played in the tablature - you can see what you hear. In addition, an animated graphic of a Kalimba shows where the tines are. And all of this with increasing difficulty - this is how you learn the instrument, and not just the songs in this course.

The songs included: Across the western Ocean / Arthur McBride / At the wave mouth / Barbara Allen (In scarlet town, where I was born) / Ceol brutha - A Fairy plaint / Drunken sailor / Eileen Aroon / Farewell, Nancy / Loch Lomond / MacPherson's Farewell / Molly Malone / Scarborough Fair / Scots wha hae / Skye Boat Song / Spancil Hill / Sweet Carnloch Bay / The Bantry Girls of Lament / The Castle of Dromore / The Curragh of Kildare / The Earl of Moray / The Foggy Dew / The Highland Widow's Lament / The Lark in the Clear Air / The leaving of Liverpool / The meeting of the Waters / The Seagull of the Land-under-Waves / There was a Lad was Born in Kyle / Whiskey in the Jar / Wild rover / Will ye go, Lassie?

The tuning of the Kalimba and the usual tablatures are also explained, there is also a short video on the history and structure of the Kalimba.

The ideal course for newcomers, music lovers and Kalimba fans. And for everyone who has already heard of the Kalimba and wants to know more. And of course want to learn to play the instrument ...!
