Q & A
What instrument, software and equipment do I need?
None. I provide you with everything you need to succeed, including work sheets, lectures and practice sessions.
Why a Boot Camp?
Learning key signatures is a bit like learning to ride a bicycle - you only have to learn it once. It's not like some subjects where it gets more complicated as it goes along. However, most people are taught just the easy key signatures first, such as C Major, so they get stuck with anything over 4 Sharps or Flats. By focusing exclusively on key signatures in a boot camp setting, not only will you learn and remember all of them, you'll have a thorough understanding of how they work.
What happens in the boot camp?
The course is a combination of short rote learning sessions, writing exercises, plus critical thinking exercises and theory lectures so you can make the logical connections for an in-depth understanding of music and how it works.
What if I don't have time to study every day?
Let's face it, learning can be hard work. That's why I created a 'boot camp' - to provide a structured learning experience so you can get the learning key signatures over and done with as quickly and painlessly as possible! But you can also work at your own pace. You'll still get the information you need to succeed at the course.
Who is the instructor?
I (Anne Plummer) am a musician whose entire career depends on being able to read music fluently. I wished I’d understood much earlier that there is a difference between music that is difficult to read versus music that is difficult to play. I know how complex written music can look, but with my unique approach, you’ll soon thoroughly understand even the most tricky key signature.
