[Last Update: 5 May 2023 - Added a bonus Landscape Painting Demo]
Do you know that watercolors can be used as an opaque painting medium to do paintings such as these?
Welcome to the Sketchbook everyday Series of courses.
In this sixth course, I'll show you a step by step demonstration of how I painted this painting in my sketchbook using watercolors.
My name is Mandar, a Fine Artist, and a sculptor. I will be leading you through this course.
I'll show you every color that I mix, every brush stroke I make and along the way tell you my logic behind my every move.
I also tell you why I mix particular colors for particular shapes, how to avoid the monotony of colors, how to direct viewer's attention to the focal area, how aerial perspective affects the colors and how you can use edges to suggest distance.
Making paintings like these requires just your watercolors, a sketchbook and your time. Your sketchbook is your personal place to practice, so you neither have the pressure to create a gallery ready painting nor the pressure to make a big size painting every time.
This series of courses is for you if you want to improve your art and are willing to practice art-making for at least 15 minutes every day. It doesn't matter if you are a student, a professional, a homemaker or a retired person. No prior art making experience is necessary to take this course. Just having the interest is enough.
I look forward to seeing you inside this class!
Happy painting! Mandar
