Description

Welcome to the Materialise Mimics from basic to advanced level tutorial, the only course you need to learn everything about working with medical images to calculate 3D models, then perform mesh and assign material properties. This course is designed for biomedical and mechanical engineering students or engineers who are interested to expand their knowledge on converting anatomical data from images to 3D models and the segmentation process.

About Software

Mimics is a software package developed by Materialise company. The software allows extracting 3D information from an image stack and building a 3D model from it using RP technology.

About Course

This course is divided into 4 modules:

  • Mimics navigation, measurements tools, interacting with 2D and 3D viewports, mimics operations (Mimics- Crop, cavity fill, region growing, Boolean operations, etc)

  • Basic and advanced segmentation, segmentation of an implanted hip (including bone cement, implant, and bone)

  • Remeshing the model’s surface elements and generating the model’s volume mesh

  • Material properties assignment

Why This Course

  • This course will take you from beginner to pro in segmentation.

  • With the skills learned in this course, you can link medical images to other applications like Rapid Prototyping (RP), Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE), Computer-Aided Design (CAD), and Surgical Simulation.

  • We have covered all the basic fundamentals of segmentation, performing mesh, and material properties assignment.

Who Should Attend!

  • mechanical engineers, biomedical engineers, and research scholars in Masters & Phd degree
  • Anyone who wants to work with medical images
  • Anyone who wants to learn practical application of 3d modeling from medical images
  • Anyone who wants to learn segmentation in medical images
  • Anyone who wants to perform Finite Element Analysis based on medical images
