We will discuss some mermaid history in this course. We will learn who the first mermaid and merman were. We speak about Oannes and Atargatis.

We will discuss the difference between a mermaid and a siren.

We will learn miscellaneous mermaid facts like: What do mermaids eat? Where do mermaids live? What is their personality like? How do they interact with humans? What color are their tails?

We will discuss a few mermaid stories. Such as the story of Melusine and the little mermaid.

We will learn about mermaids and mermen from around the world. That includes sirens, cecealia, mermen, tritons, newts, adaro, the blue men, Hai Ho Shang, Kappa, Ningyo, Matsya, Suvannamaccha, the Ipupiara, el hombre caiman, the Lara, Millalobo the king of the sea, his wife Huenchula, and their children, Pincoy, Pincoya, and Sirena Chilota.

We will also learn about water babies, the Nibiinaabe, the Niweq, Lumpeguins, Sabawaelnu, Irish mermaids, Mermaids from Cornwall, merrows, moroughs, ceasg, rusalki, Bereginya, Beregini, lorelei, vily, vila, undine, ondine, mami wata, manba mantu, yawkyawk, aicaya, lobasta, and the cecealia (octopus-mermaids).

We will mention mermaid sightings from the past and present.

We will discuss what creatures could have possibly been mistaken for mermaids. These include dugongs and manatees.

We will speak about mermaids today. We will mention mermaid movies.
