Description
The gut microbes are microorganism thriving in our digestive tract and are responsible for physiological functions of metabolism, digestion and immune response against pathogens. A balance number of gut microbes ensure a healthy symbiotic relationship between the gut microbiota and the host. However, when this homeostasis condition is disrupted due to a variety of factors, the emergence of microbes causing skin disease occurs.
In this 7-part series titled "Microbes & Gut Health," you will learn to identify the microbes present in the gut as well as the impact of microbes on beauty health. Furthermore, you will be taught to recognize the unhealthy lifestyle/wellness habits that lead to microbiome alteration and the techniques used in the lab for identification of microbes.
1st Segment: The Anatomy and Physiology of Gut
