In this course we will cover the basics of what the planning cycle is and how it is used in early childhood. Throughout the course you will deepen your level of knowledge about the planning cycle and how to use it effectively.

We will be covering the planning cycle from both a theoretical and practical perspective, enabling you to feel confident in the planning process from a documentation and practical perspective. Being competent in understanding, writing and faciliating a program plan that has no missing links in the planning cycle.

This course will be based on the Australian context of early childhood education, throughout I will be referring to Australian links, regulations, laws, framework and standards. But is also useful as a basis of understanding of the planning process and why we do what we do wherever you are in the world. It helps the learner to build and faciliatate a curriculum that is meaninful and purposeful.

The aim of a successful planning cycle is to not only be in compliance to the regulatory body, but most importantly to benefit the outcomes of children.

For those who are responsibile in writing programs and plans for children, this course will give you all the information you need to write plans for children's learning and development. How gathering information on children is a process of ongoing assessment, and how the planning cycle plays a functional role in gathering evidence of childrens progress in their learning and development both as individuals and in groups.
