Description

In this course you will learn and be proficent on one of the most powerful software program for power system field which is NEPLAN. It is widely used to analyze, design, improve, and simulate networks. All electrical features in transmission, distribution, generating, and industrial networks are covered by the adaptable software, which has a modular design. Due to the excellent accuracy and performance of all required models and simulation techniques, it is ideally suited for usage with renewable energy systems and SmartGrid applications. The NEPLAN simulator enables detailed modeling of wind and solar power plants with associated controls for dynamic simulations (RMS/EMT), as well as the integration of Matlab/Simulink models, in addition to steady state calculations, power quality and optimization elements, and protection design. The software's strength is its incredibly user-friendly graphical user interface with its comprehensive libraries for network components, security systems, and control circuits, which enables the user to complete study cases quickly. The program is modular in design, built to meet IEC, ANSI, IEEE, and other international standards, and it may be tailored for the European and American markets. The accuracy and performance of the stationary and dynamic models for 1-2-3 phase (with neutral and ground wire) AC and DC networks are quite excellent. New IT approaches and algorithms may readily manage very large networks (over 500 000 bus bars).
