What is this class about?
This is the perfect class for you to learn how to use Notion creatively to organize your life and work. The app works as a blank canvas that allows you to build your own structure in virtually any way you can think of.
In this class, we'll go over Notion's fundamentals. We'll start by creating our very first page with components and go all the way to more complex features, such as databases. We'll see how Notion provides the foundation for us to use our imagination and build the things we love on our computers.
Also, the structure of the class is designed so that you take 1 lesson per day for 7 consecutive days so that you avoid cramming knowledge and absorb the information more effectively.
What will I learn in this class?
In this class, you'll learn how to use Notion's foundational features and get well on your way to mastering the application. Some of the concepts we'll look into are:
Creating a Page and Basic Elements
Nesting Pages, Links, Backlinks
Styling Pages
Databases and Properties
Database Views and Linked Views
Templates
Why should I take this class?
Many of us organize our life and work using more conventional methods such as writing things down on paper or using outdated computer applications. Notion is a state-of-the-art app that allows you to organize your knowledge and online tools in ways that you never imagined. This course is the perfect starting place to get familiarized with everything that Notion has to offer.
Who is this class for?
This class is for anyone who has no idea what Notion is or anyone who already uses Notion but is looking for new ideas and inspiration. This course is for you if you're looking to learn about new ways to organize your life and work and to structure it all in a powerful cloud-based application that is flexible and intuitive to use.
Final Project:
Create your own Notion database with all the features you need. It is meant to organize whatever it is you choose. The good thing about Notion databases is that they can include almost every single feature that Notion has to offer. They are a great way to get to know the software.
Each day of the class, I explain new features and build up my own version of this class project: a Modern-day Reading List in which I track the books or online resources I read. You can follow along and adapt the components to make the project your own.
You can follow these steps to complete the class project:
On day one, create your project even before starting the first lesson (following along with the class).
Go through the lessons and make updates to your project as you go. You can upload screenshots of what you build and share your Notion pages' URLs.
Once you go through all the lessons, post your final version of your Notion database with a description stating how it's used.
