My passion & love for art explained

My name is Susan Atkinson and I'm a Wisconsin-based watercolor artist!

I have had a fascination with art since I was able to draw with a crayon at about 3 or 4 years of age. A love of art was brought to my life by my mother who has been a strong encouragement to me throughout my life.

I have a strong art education dating back to high school and credit my teachers for sharing the enthusiasm of the creation of art with me. Beyond that, I'm primarily self-taught but admit to having studied under other successful artists on occasion.

My greatest teacher I feel is the observation of nature and your surroundings. I have also learned a great deal from reading and studying the work of other artists.

I love to paint what inspires me at the time, be it people, flowers, animals, or perhaps a theme or idea represented by imagery. The greatest gift to me from my art is that others find enjoyment in what I have created and bettered themselves along the way.
