Description

Do you experience panic attacks? Rapid heartbeat, hyperventilating, fear, feeling as if you are going crazy, trembling... You are not alone. An estimated 2.7% of U.S. adults experience panic disorder.  Not everyone who has panic attacks has panic disorder. For a diagnosis of panic disorder, the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5), is published by the American Psychiatric Association. At least one of your attacks has been followed by one month or more of ongoing worry about having another attack; continued fear of the consequences of an attack, such as losing control, having a heart attack or "going crazy"; or significant changes in your behavior, such as avoiding situations that you think may trigger a panic attack (Mayo Clinic, 2023).

This course is an overview of Panic and will give you an opportunity to learn and be empowered in facing this fear-bully. With pleasant brain activities, a clinical background of the disorder, and how to seek help, you will be on your way to feeling better. Building better health of mind and body includes objectively identifying anxiety, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, finding treatment and a support group, and becoming educated on the sources of your distress.
