Description

Certified Clinical medical assistants (CCMAs) are trained, multi-skilled medical professionals who perform administrative and clinical tasks in various settings, like medical offices, clinics and hospitals. They may work under the direct supervision of a physician, an office manager or other healthcare practitioner. The medical assisting profession is expected to continue expanding, making a stable career option in the healthcare field. To be successful in this role, you need to be knowledgeable on the various tasks and roles associated with it. To help you prepare, items on the examination might require recall critical and analytical thinking pertaining to a knowledge, task or both.

Included are 150 questions covering these domains: Foundational Knowledge and Basic Science, Anatomy and Physiology, Clinical Patient Care, Patient Care Coordination and Education, Administrative Assisting, Communication and Customer Service, and Medical Law and Ethics. The preparatory exam is intended to help increase your odds in passing the state CCMA certification exam. Questions in each section will assess the knowledge, information, and concepts a CCMA must know, as well as tasks or duties that a CCMA must be able to perform. Knowledge areas may be found in more than one section.

The test can be conveniently completed online at any time on any device. Your goal should be to score at least 85% on the exam. After completing the exam, be sure to review the knowledge areas, as they will help you identify sections to further review. It is advisable to complete a course first or read through the material to become familiar with the verbiage and definitions. Good luck!
