PLC Programming - Motion Control with PLCopen

What You Will Learn!

  • You will learn what Motion Control is how it is related to PLC Programming
  • You will learn the PLCopen Motion Control standard that is used by most Motion Control systems
  • You will learn the details of PLCopen MC in each component and Function Block
  • You will try all the functionalities using the CoDeSys SoftMotion implementation of the PLCopen MC standard
  • You will learn how to apply all the Motion Control components to real world scenarios

Description

This course will teach you Motion Control, starting from the basics, reaching on to advanced concepts.

In this course you will learn how the main Function Blocks of a standard Motion Control system work and how they should be used in real-world scenario.

We will learn the PLCopen Motion Control standard using the CoDeSys Softmotion library. This library will allow us to run a complete motion control system on a completely simulated environment. You won't even need a PLC to follow this course.

This course will be held entirely using the CoDeSys development environment and the Structured Text PLC language. So, if you are looking for a course on Ladder Logic, this is NOT the course for you.

To properly understand this course, the students should have basic knowledge about PLC programming and about CoDeSys.
If you do not have this knowledge, please check out my beginner course on Udemy: PLC Programming – Learn the Basics with CoDeSys .

We will work on carefully designed simulations, provided by me, that will allow you to program a motion control system, even without having a real PLC.

If you want to work as a PLC software engineer or if you want to make a career in automation, this is the course for you!

At the end of this course you will have learned the concepts and technology behind Motion Control.

Who Should Attend!

  • Anyone who works (or wants to work) in the Automation Software industry and wishes to acquire better skills and knowledge regarding PLC programming
  • Anyone who wants to learn how to use Motion Control and how to integrate it in PLC programming
