This course is best suitable for the students who find “pipeline flow hydraulics” as difficult, because all the complex problems are discussed in simple manner, also advanced power point presentations, animations are used so as students should understand in easiest way.
This course contains total three sections with 16 lectures, each section is having various subtopics explained.
The sections are as follows:
Section 1: Introduction to Pipeline Flow Hydraulics
In this section, you will know about the author, course objectives and components.
Section 2: Pipeline Flow
In this section, you will review fluid properties, conservation laws and Bernoulli Equation. You will know how to calculate energy head losses in pipe flow, how to connect pipes in series or parallel. You will learn calculation of flow rate for pipes in series or parallel and for branching pipes. You will know the definition of “water hammer” and its effects. You will analyse the changes due to water hammer. You will also learn about series pipe junctions and “Tee Junction”.
Section 3: Pumping System
This section contains the pump types and uses. You will learn how to calculate the required pumping head and estimate the pumping head and power. You will understand the concept of pump arrangement and define “Cavitation”. You will learn how to obtain pump performance curves and how to construct the system curves. You will learn how to determine operating discharge and head for a group of pumps. You will also, learn about “Total Pipe Owing Cost” and consider “Pipeline and Pumping Economics”.
By the end of this course:
You will have a solid understanding of the theory and practice of pipeline flow hydraulics.
You will be able to apply your knowledge and skills to solve real-world problems related to pipeline flow hydraulics and pumping system.
So cannot wait to see you in the course, and I hope it shall give you added value.
