Welcome to the Professional Flying Skills, Knowledge, Tips and Techniques course. My name is Michael Carlini, founder of the Oregon Flight School, and I will be your instructor. I am a corporate jet pilot, flight instructor, and ATP. I am glad you are here.
Over the course of my professional flying career thus far flying skydivers, bush flying in Alaska, flight instructing, and flying corporate jets both single-pilot and as a crew, I have accrued skills, knowledge, techniques, tips - sometimes learned the hard way - that have aided me tremendously. This course is my attempt at sharing all of these lessons with you over the course of just a couple hours, so that when you enter the professional pilot work force as a flight instructor, jump pilot, banner tow pilot, jet pilot, or anywhere in between, you will be operating at a professional level.
By the end of this course you will:
Understanding of the concept of Extreme Ownership, and how it applies to pilots
Know how to always be ready for "when" (and not "if") abnormal and emergency situations arise
Be able to conduct flight planning at the professional pilot level
Understand preflight considerations at the professional pilot level
Understand performance considerations at the professional pilot level
Be aware of how aircraft performance limitations and data is captured by the manufacturer
Be able to interact with passengers effectively and professionally
Understand weather considerations at the professional pilot level
This course is designed for all pilots, from student pilots to commercial pilots working towards their ATP, who want to bring their airmanship to a professional level. I am excited to be able to share lessons that I have learned over the course of many years and thousands of hours of flying, condensed down into a course that is less than two hours in duration.
Thanks for tuning in, and I will see you inside!
