This VoIP training was created for people who don't know what voice over IP is. The objective here is to start from the beginning. It was created to help people starting in a company related to voice over IP with no idea of what it is.
We have a dedicated a chapter for sales professionals, where they can understand the dynamics of an Internet Telephony Service Provider and a company providing VoIP systems such as Unified Communication as a Service (UcaaS). They will learn how to differentiate their sales, understand the logic connection rates and increments and get some suggestions on how to upsell in SIP trunking and Unified Communications.
For decision makers we have described the six waves of Voice over IP. Initially the main business outcome for VoIP was the savings in the phone bill. Then we have five additional waves convergence, open standards, unified communications, cloud and automation. Each of this waves brought different business outcomes.
Finally in the entrepreneurs session we have analyzed the business models behind the main VoIP companies. We have use the business model canvas to describe the inner working of VoIP businesses. Almost all business models for VoIP are based in recurrent revenue and it is very important to understand the financial logic behind these models.
