Description

This course is both an introductory and refresher course to radiopharmaceutical chemistry whereby students will be taught the fundamentals & current advances behind the chemistry of Technetium-99m and Fluorine-18 and the various techniques in labelling of radiopharmaceuticals. In general, this course focuses on simple and practical steps to improve performance, core competencies and essential training for undergraduate or postgraduate students and continuous professional development for personnel working or planning to work in the nuclear medicine department or similar establishment.

This course is tailor-made for learners as listed below:

  • Relevant undergraduate or postgraduate students

  • Radiopharmacists or nuclear pharmacists

  • Nuclear medicine technologists and radiographers

  • Medical physicists and medical physics technicians

  • Quality control/quality assurance personnel

  • Medical doctors and other health care professionals

  • Pharmaceutical and radiation regulatory agency personnel

  • Researchers in the field of radiopharmaceutical research

The course structure consists of 3 sections. Each section provides the lessons in a step-wise manner for easy comprehension and learning. Videos with innovative animation will help facilitate understanding and quizzes at the end of each section will foster and motivate learning.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to describe the basic chemistry of two common isotopes used in nuclear medicine and the principles and concepts behind the methods of radiolabelling. Learners will earn a completion certificate once all the required responses are appropriately given and quizzes completed. There are a total of 12 videos with an approximate learning time of 2 hrs including activities and assessments.

SynchroPharmX Hub makes learning easy.
