SAP ALE for beginners

What You Will Learn!

  • You'll be able to setup SAP ALE integration stack from scratch to send and receive data between SAP systems

Description

This is a real training session for SAP HCM junior consultants on basics of SAP data integration with the help of standard tool – SAP ALE and IDOC messages. Utilizing this technology, you can exchange data between SAP and non-SAP systems as IDOC is a universal data exchange message. You can convert IDOC to XML and process outside of SAP or vice-versa, which is very flexible and convenient.

We have detailed explanation how to setup two SAP systems to exchange HR/HCM data back and forth. How to filter data, how to send and receive data, errors processing. All is based on real experience in 50 thousand employee companies.

In this course we talk about:

1. How SM59 transaction works. Principles of physical communications.

2. How to set up logical systems, partners in WE20, WE21 transactions.

3. How to define distribution model, initial steps to send data over SAP ALE integration layer.

We'll cover BD64, BD79, PFAL transactions and some troubleshooting.

This is the most standard and quickest way to connect let’s say SAP HR to SAP FI or SAP CRM to supply them with org data and basic employee data.

To make a setup in your landscape you need to have the authorizations for BASIS tasks. We don’t show how to setup trusted RFC or SSO connections in between systems.

Normally all integration is ran under a technical user and all background jobs are scheduled under another system user, so make sure you have it in advance.

Feel free to ask your questions, we’re here to help.
