Description

In this course Manual Osteopath, Registered Massage Therapist and Yoga Teacher Michael Eric Everson is going to guide you through how to deliver a Thai Table Massage. Simply put, Thai massage, also known as Nuad Boran, is a traditional healing art that originated in Thailand over 2,500 years ago. It is based on the principles of energy flow, or "Sen," and uses a combination of acupressure, yoga-like stretches, and deep tissue massage techniques to release tension and promote relaxation.

Unlike other kinds of massage, Thai massages are traditionally done dry, meaning that no lotions or oils are used. Instead, the Thai massage therapist will apply pressure to different areas of the body, using a combination of compression techniques and stretching. During the practice, you lie down on a mat on the floor and the therapist will then instruct you to move into different positions as the massage progresses.

But! in this case we're going to be transferring those techniques onto the table which is a lot more practical for most practicing massage therapists in the world, so as to incorporate it into their everyday practice.

The most interesting thing about Thai massage is that the massage therapist will use different parts of their body to carry out the treatment. Body parts that may be used during a traditional Thai massage include hands, forearms, feet and elbows. Overall, Thai massage is a holistic and therapeutic artform that helps to restore balance and harmony to the body and mind.
