This course reviews the functions of the pastor as teacher and shepherd and discusses problems and possible solutions to enable it to be more effective in its ministry.

The course also discusses how society has changed and how it has affected the church. It will also discuss the factors that hinder the church’s ministry and possible solutions, including how the church has changed the increasing isolation within the church. Member’s need to feel safe but changes have hindered that. It also deals with how the church can help members feel safer.

The church can involve more of its members in ministry by increasing opportunity, developing more productive committees, helping members find direction, and providing them with training.
