The unwritten rules of writing an excellent assignment

This course will show you how to write an assignment from beginning to end. Knowing the unwritten rules of writing a captivating and critical assignment is crucial to improve your grades and enhance the quality of your academic work. All the techniques that I will show you are tried and tested.

The objectives for this course are:

You will learn about different types of assignments

You will learn how to structure an assignment

You will be aware of what is required for you to produce a highly graded assignment

You will be able to bring together different elements into one cohesive assignment

This course consists of four lectures.

Lecture 1 – The types of assignments

Lecture 2 – How to write an introduction

Lecture 3 - How to write the main body

Lecture 4 - How to write a conclusion

After each lecture, you will be asked to complete an activity sheet. The activity sheets are based on the content of the lectures. So, when you complete these activity sheets, it will test your knowledge and give you a deeper understanding of the content. Also, when you complete the course you will receive a certificate of completion.

My name is Dr Ryan Arthur. I currently oversee learning development at Birkbeck college at the University of London.
