Dermatology USMLE refers to the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) Step 2 Clinical Skills (CS) examination in the specialty of dermatology. The USMLE is a three-step examination for medical licensure in the United States, and Step 2 CS assesses the clinical skills of medical students in a simulated patient setting. The Dermatology USMLE test evaluates a medical student's ability to gather relevant information from a patient, perform a physical examination, and communicate their findings and plan to the patient. The test is designed to assess a medical student's ability to provide patient-centered care, integrate clinical and communication skills, and demonstrate the knowledge and understanding of patient care that is expected of a physician. The examination includes several standardized patient encounters, and each encounter is followed by a direct assessment of the examinee's performance.
