Watercolor in fashion illustration, like no other technique, is able to convey not only the silhouette and cut of clothes, but also the mood, the spirit of the show and the author's idea in a light and effective manner. If you are in love with fashion and want to learn how to draw fashion illustrations in watercolor but have no art education or experience in painting, this course will help you start and give you the basic knowledge that you can later develop and deepen.
This is my second author's online course in which I will introduce you to different forms and techniques of drawing watercolors, which I use myself. I will share my knowledge, techniques and tricks, which I hope will help you to improve your skills, and perhaps discover something completely new for you.
We will look at three different types of watercolor: Liquid, Solid, and Tube Watercolor. I will explain and show in practice what their fundamental differences are and how you can work with them.
I will show you how to mix skin and hair tones using a basic range of three colors, and a quick way to mix skin tones. In practice you will learn how to feel the nuances of color and how to get the desired result.
Together with me you will draw three fashion portraits in different techniques, such as wet and dry.
Also together we will draw two fashion illustrations: a dress and a suit, where you will learn to work with photo-reference from fashion shows. As well as practicing how to depict fabric in watercolor.
We'll overcome the fear of painting with liquid watercolor and put our knowledge into practice. Let's enjoy the process, loosen up and start experimenting in the process of illustration.
