What is Design Thinking? Why is everybody talking about it? Why is it relevant in all disciplines, and why could it be the tool that makes the difference for you too? In your work, your research, and maybe even your personal life! In this short course, we'll have a look at:
1) The origins and history of Design thinking: where it came from, its position in the context of the design discipline, and how it propagated to the massively important, widespread creative process it is today
2) An introduction to the Design Thinking steps and most important methods, so that you’ll be immediately able to implement them in your journey with creativity
3) We’ll discuss some fundamental principles and approaches for the Design Thinking mindset like group work, the role of uncertainty, dealing with biases, assumptions, visual communication, etc.
4) Finally, we'll have a look at few spaces where there is really the need to apply Design Thinking today, and where you might want to start playing with it!
The goal of this course is for you to learn to *critically* look at Design Thinking for what is it: a customizable, malleable, and "designable" creative process. With this course, you will be able to design your own Design Thinking process based on your own strategy and needs.
