WPS & PQR Understanding & Preparation

What You Will Learn!

  • To understand the meaning of pWPS, WPS & PQR and different between them and what is role of each one
  • To know the welding variables, their meaning and influence of them on WPS & PQR.
  • During the course, all welding variable have been mentioned and how can it drive the WPS & PQR?
  • Understand what is meant by essential, nonessential and supplementary welding variables and what is the different between them?
  • Finally, study the PQR, and how can we prepare it and the what are the mechanical tests which applied on PQR with acceptance criteria and finally get an example

Description

The course is one of the interesting & specialist topic in welding. The course shed light on the definition of WPS & PQR, which lead to the aim of them and influence of industrial projects. On the other hand, the course offered the different between pWPS, WPS & PQR and why we should go through these expressions.

In addition, the course exposed to the welding variables, what do they mean? What are their important in formulating the WPS? Welding variables are classified into three categories; essential, non-essential and supplementary variables so the course explains their definitions and their effect on the establishment of WPS. The course draw main rules to qualify a welding process starting with understand the intended application for which the WPS will be used and develop a draft procedure (Called Preliminarily WPS “pWPS” ( after that make a qualification weld and finally test the qualification weld and write up the WPS

The last step in our course is PQR, what is the aim of PQR, how can it prepare? what are the mechanical tests applied on it and what is the acceptance criteria for each test. In addition, we offered an approved example of WPS for more strong understanding. In this example we show all welding variables which we studied in the course with their ranges and also the PQR with its mechanical tests with acceptance criteria
