To Register for the certification and take exams, candidate must hold one of the following:

  • A Degree
    The ACCA Qualification
    Two years post-secondary education (such as A-levels) and two years’ experience in internal audit
    Four years’ experience in Internal Audit

Before candidate can be awarded the CIA designation, candidate must also have some experience of working in Internal Audit or a related role. Candidate must hold one of the following

  • A master degree ( or equivalent) and 12 month Internal Auditing experience
    A degree and two years’ experience
    Two years post-secondary education (such as A-levels) and five years’ experience
    Seven years’ experience
