Description

"CIA" stands for Central Intelligence Agency, which is a civilian intelligence agency of the federal government of the United States. The CIA is responsible for providing intelligence and analysis to the President and senior U.S. policy makers, and for carrying out covert operations and intelligence-gathering activities outside the United States. The CIA works to collect and analyze information about foreign governments, corporations, and individuals, and to provide intelligence support for U.S. national security decision-making. The CIA operates under the jurisdiction of the Director of National Intelligence and reports to the President, the National Security Council, and the Homeland Security Council.

The CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) is the primary professional designation offered by The IIA. The CIA designation is a globally recognized certification for internal auditors and is a standard by which individuals may demonstrate their competency and professionalism in the internal audit field.

Welcome to this exam preparation course for the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), a certification from the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).

It will help you understand the role that internal audit functions play in an organization and the principles and standards of the profession. You will learn about the essential areas of governance, risk management and internal controls where auditors put much of their work effort. Finally, you will better know how to react if you suspect fraud within your organization.

Most importantly, it aims to help you ‘think’ like an internal auditor, which I find is essential for scoring highly on the exam as well as being a great internal auditor.
