This course discuss alternating current motors construction and operation. At the present day the most widely used industrial motor is the induction motors. so that this course introduces a complete knowledge of three phase and single phase induction motors.
The induction motor is made up of the stator, or stationary windings, and the rotor. The stator consists of three units; outframe, stator core and a series of wire windings of very low resistance permanently attached to the motor frame. As a voltage and a current is applied to the stator winding terminals, a rotating magnetic field is developed in the stator, the rotating magnetic field induce current into the rotor bar conductor finally the rotor produce magnetic field. The interaction of the two magnetic field turn the motor to rotate in the direction of the rotating magnetic field.
The course will go into detail for the following key topics :-
Show construction of induction motors
See how the three-phase induction motor operates and rotates
Discus types of induction motor parts and its function
Discus advantage of Induction motor
Discus types of induction motor rotor
Discus parts of induction motor stator units
Describe rotating magnetic field in induction motor
list application area of induction motor
The PowerPoint for the course, the assignment and the unit quiz and test as well as the answer key, will be uploaded based on trainees request.
