AUTomotive Open System ARchitecture (AUTOSAR) is a global development partnership of automotive interested parties founded in 2003. AUTOSAR is being rapidly being adopted by OEMs as well as suppliers to meet the growing demand for automotive software applications. The layered architecture in AUTOSAR helps to divide the overall stack into different layers such as Application, RTE, Basic Software, Microcontroller Abstraction Layer(MCAL) and microcontroller. The BSW layer is further divided as per different functionalities such as communication, diagnostics, memory etc.
Due to the vast information and multiple layers that are used, it is almost impossible to gain expertise on all layers of the AUTOSAR stack. In this course, the focus is on the Basic Software layer of AUTOSAR and in particular the Memory stack. We start from the basics, discuss various fundamental concepts, modules involved and finally have a look at configuration aspects of the different modules.
The goal of this course is to provide as much information possible to help a person wanting to learn/work in AUTOSAR memory stack. Note that this is not a substitute to actual work experience but it definitely will help you get the fundamentals right.
Also configuration demonstration is not specific to any tooling as most of the AUTOSAR tools available are licensed. But the configuration aspects discussed are applicable for any tool that you will use in your career.
