Description

iOS is a great platform for Modular Synthesis, this online course you will teach you both the fundamentals and the advanced concepts. Learn how to create your own patches and get the most out of the best modular synth emulations available for the Moog Model 15 and Ripplemaker Apps.

The course contains 21 lessons, covering both East-coast and West-coast approaches to modular synthesis as well as advanced audio synthesis concepts. As an additional bonus it contains 20+ patches for the Moog Model 15 and Ripplemaker apps.

Model 15
Each facet of the Moog Model 15 modular synthesizer has been meticulously recreated in this application to ensure the power and transcendent sound quality of each module remains intact. The character, harmonic complexity and mystique of the Moog Model 15s modules, from the legendary Moog 921–series oscillators and 904A Low Pass Filter, to the coveted 907 Fixed Filter Bank have been painstakingly preserved.

In order to develop the most immersive and expressive modular interface possible, the Model 15 App has been designed utilizing Apple’s new Metal technology. This ensures that all zooming, panning and modular patching throughout the application feels completely natural, something that would have been impossible otherwise.

The Model 15 App features both monophonic and 4-voice polyphonic operation is easily commanded via 4 seamlessly integrated controllers. Simple swipes and taps provide instant access to a traditional Moog keyboard, 1150 ribbon controller, 8-step sequencing arpeggiator and the award-winning Animoog keyboard with 22 built-in scales and polyphonic modulation capabilities.

Also included are extended features which expand the capabilities of the app beyond the traditional offerings of the hardware Moog Model 15. These include total MIDI integration, assignment for external control, use as a MIDI controller, dedicated Audio Bridge and MIDI Bridge modules, looping recorder module with overdubbing, a master ping-pong delay module and a new extension cabinet that includes additional amplifiers and voltage-controlled reversible attenuators that can be used for effects like ring-modulation.

Ripplemaker

The freedom and versatility of a modular synth in a stylish mobile package. In typical West Coast fashion the available modules, such as complex oscillator, lowpass gate, FM, mathematical utilities and slope generator, are designed for exploration and experimentation.

Even if you’re not familiar with modulars, wavefolders or control voltages you can dive right in, because all modules are prewired; offering a powerful monosynth without using a single cable. Then whip out the virtual cables and start patching. Ripplemaker is designed for fun – big enough to lose yourself into, yet intuitive enough to not get lost.

Sometimes you want to get away from your DAW and just play. That’s why Ripplemaker, beside being an AU plugin, also comes with a standalone sequencer app that helps you get creative. It has a random pattern generator with scale locks, a realtime probability-based mutation engine and it syncs with your other apps and hardware via Ableton Link or MIDI Clock.

Connectivity beyond cables
Obviously in a modular synth it’s all about cables. But Ripplemaker takes connectivity to the next level:

  • AUv3 (Audio Unit) Plugin Extension

  • Universal design (works on iPad 4+, iPhone 5S+, iPod Touch 6G+)

  • CoreMIDI, Virtual MIDI, Bluetooth MIDI,

  • Audiobus 3, including AB3 MIDI IN+OUT and State Saving

  • Ableton Link

  • MIDI Clock Sync

  • WAV export, MIDI file export, AU preset export

  • Ready for iOS11 Files access
