Welcome to Parent Training
As we all know children do not come with manuals. Parents often struggle on how to raise healthy, mentally strong, well-rounded , emotionally intelligent and successful kids. Some parents are strict, while others are lenient. Some are vigilant, while others are distant. I personally believe that parents are the everyday heroes that often go unrecognized. I truly believe that most Parents if not all want the very best for their children. Many parents want more for their children than they even do for themselves. It’s a thankless job with no pay, high expectations, high demands and a very small benefits package. Yet many of us get up every day to do this job to the best of our abilities, with an enormous consuming love in our hearts, and only one goal in mind, that our children would be healthy, happy, and eventually well adjusted adults. We do this job while dreaming of the day when our children succeed and out do all that we invested.

The most important advice and/or instruction I can give you as a Parent, isn’t even in the modules in this course. I would say that the number one issue that many parents face when attempting to parent would be not addressing their own internal world, needs, issues and locus of control. Many parents come into parenting with their own unresolved issues from childhood. As a result, this comes out in their parenting and could hinder their progress. It's important that you don’t neglect your own self care and needs in your attempt to be a good parent. The best parents are healthy, balanced, and whole themselves as well as have their own level of high emotional intelligence to work off of and from.
I strongly encourage you (if you haven’t already) to look into your own counseling, self help and other ways to become healthier so that the following education and tips will be the most helpful and beneficial to you. Please check out my other courses on Emotional Intelligence and Schema Therapy as well to assist you in your journey.
