What You Will Learn!

  • An understanding of the theory and history of wavetable synthesis.
  • An indepth understanding of the parameters and controls of Ableton's 'Wavetable' synthesizer.
  • The creative application of the building blocks of synthesis in various sound design examples.

Description

This comprehensive course takes a deep dive into synthesis using Ableton’s Wavetable synthesizer.
'Wavetable' is a powerful Wavetable subtractive synth that's capable of a plethora of modern contemporary sounds.

A basic understanding of subtractive synthesis parameters (such as oscillators, filters, envelopes, LFO's etc) is assumed, and this course goes straight into the nuts and bolts of sound design in Wavetable.

If you are new to the subject of synthesis then I recommend checking out my ‘Synthesis 101’ series of courses, which cover all the basics.

We cover all the controls of Ableton’s Wavetable such as:

· Signal Flow

· Wavetable oscillators

· Multimode filters

· Low Frequency Oscillators

· Envelopes

· The Modulation Matrix and more

There are many different example patches on how to build common types of sounds such as:

· Basses

· Leads

· Pads

Although this course specifically focuses on Ableton’s ‘Wavetable’ synthesizer, many of the fundamental concepts of synthesis and sound design will also translate to other synthesizers with similar specifications such as Native Instrument's 'Massive' and Xfer's 'Serum'.

This course is aimed at intermediate to advanced music producers who want to get up to speed with this amazing software synthesizer.

So if you are ready to become a synth ninja this is the course for you.

Who Should Attend!

  • Intermediate to advanced users who want to learn wavetable synthesis using Ableton's 'Wavetable' synthesizer.
