This course is for you if:

  • You’re sick of battling and tired of managing constant meltdowns.

  • You’ve tried bribing, shouting and giving in.

  • You’re ready for a new, easier and more mindful way to manage tantrums.

If you're ready to change the way tantrums play out in your house, then The Tantrum Toolkit and its three simple steps is here to help.

How can this course help me?

This course isn't just us telling you what to do Supernanny-style, simply full of strategies that may or may not work - in the short or long term.

This is because we know from experience that strategies on their own, however great they may be, aren't really all that useful.

That's why this course is based on sound, scientific evidence and is informed by research in child development, psychology and neuroscience. But don't worry, you definitely don't have to be a neuroscientist to understand it all! It's presented in a clear, easy-to-follow manner, with practical examples along the way.

We know that these tools work because we've used them with hundreds of parents over the years and they've told us over and over again about the changes they've been able to make in their families.

We also teach these steps in our live workshops, and the feedback we've had from workshop attendees speaks for itself...

What people say about Mellownest:

'I went to my first workshop yesterday and it was absolutely brilliant. I have a 5-year-old boy and I only wish I'd had this a few years ago... Nneka and Claire's bags of knowledge and experience with children, coupled with humour and calm, led to many lightbulb moments and lots of laughs. Really want my husband to go now... and in fact any parent of young children, grandparent or professional working with children... Can't recommend Mellownest highly enough and am just looking forward to them running more sessions.'

'I went to a brilliant workshop run by Mellownest. It was really interactive. I came away feeling empowered and motivated to connect with my children in fun and playful ways. I have also enjoyed the online resources, articles, blogs and videos. They have given me some great ideas as well as reaffirm that some of my feelings are normal! I would highly recommend Mellownest to any parent or carer but also to people who work closely with children.'

Will this course stop my child's tantrums?

You'll learn more than you ever thought there could be to learn about tantrums in this course, but we'll let you in on one of those insights now - it's impossible to stop any child ever having a tantrum! And that's because they're a completely normal behaviour from a child development point of view.

But while you can't stop tantrums, you can certainly change how you feel about them and, by following the steps laid out in this course, you can certainly reduce the number of tantrums your child has.

As with all of our courses, we truly believe that this course will make a difference for you and your child. But it is important to note that we're not offering a set of 'quick fix' strategies that will result in changes overnight. The approaches we advocate in this course do work, we know that for sure, but what they need to make them work is dedication and a commitment from you to doing things differently. We've said parenting isn't easy, and neither is making changes to how you do it.

But this course is here to help you make the changes you want to see - enroll now to get started!

FAQ's

I'm busy - How long will this course take?

We hear you!

Overall the course should take around two hours to watch all the videos and complete the reflective exercises. But remember the beauty of an online course is that you can work at your own pace.

Most of the individual videos in the modules are between five and ten minutes long so they're easy to dip and out of whenever suits you.

What age child is this course designed for?

The course is generally designed for the toddler and pre-school age group; from around 18 months up to 5 years.

Having said that if you have a child a little older than that who still struggles with big feelings and tantrums it's likely that you'll find this content very useful.

We have actually included a particular problem-solving approach designed to tackle this issue with older children.

If your child is younger but already starting to show signs of developing tantrums you will find the content a useful tool as your child grows but you'll need to bear in mind their developmental capability.

My child is very strong-willed, can this course work for me?

Great question - this course can absolutely help with strong-willed children as the focus on connecting and building relationships is often exactly what strong-willed children need and respond better to than traditional punishment-based approaches.

It won't stop your child being strong-willed but it will help you to find a new framework for addressing challenges and help you feel confident to manage more in the moment.

Can I download the video content?

Yes all of the content is downloadable so you can have it wherever and whenever you need it.

Who Should Attend!

  • Parents of children aged between 1-10 years old.
  • Grandparents who want to learn new skills.
  • Professionals wishing to learn more about social and emotional development for children.
