This is a beginners course about aviation and what it takes to become a pilot: It includes terms and definitions you need to understand and the steps to follow to become a pilot. A brief outline of different aircraft types and a brief introduction into the world of helicopters.
Section 1 includes an A - Z glossary of basic aviation terms and definitions.
A few short videos are included to show how certain parts of an airplane work.
Section 2 is a summary of steps to take to become a pilot beginning with attaining your Private Pilots License (PPL) and building up to your Airline Transport Pilots License (ATPL).
Section 3 is an explanation of the different types of aircraft: single engine, turbine engine and jet engine aircraft.
A small selection of different aircraft types with some video footage includes: various Cessna's, the King Air B200, a Piper Saratoga and a Hawker 800 jet. Lastly an explanation about taildragger aircraft and an A1 Husky video is used to show differences between tricycle aircraft and taildragger aircraft.
Section 4 is an introduction into the world of helicopters including short videos on performing different manoeuvres using an Alouette II helicopter.
The conclusion is a summary about flying a fixed wing aircraft as opposed to flying a helicopter and the differences between the two.
